Our Story
Scarbah Angus was founded in 2007 by Zac while attending Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. His early involvement in the Angus Youth program sparked a passion for the seedstock industry, connecting him with like-minded individuals committed to strengthening the breed and advancing the beef industry.
With support from respected mentors, Zac began with a small group of carefully selected cows laying the foundation for what would become Scarbah Angus.
Building the Program
Over the past 19 years, Scarbah Angus has developed into a focused breeding operation built on longevity, maternal strength, and structural soundness. Strategic investment in elite females from leading programs including: Wattletop, Forres, Miller Wilson (Canada), Farrer, N-Bar, KO, and Rossander, has shaped the herd we are proud of today.
At the core of our philosophy is the cow. We place strong selection pressure on fertility, adaptability, and durability, ensuring only females that consistently perform remain in the herd.
Our cattle have been run across varied environments, from high rainfall to more challenging country, ensuring our genetics are practical, resilient, and commercially relevant.
A Family Operation on the Right Path
A defining step in the business came when Zac and Christine combined their shared passion for the Angus breed. Together, they refined the program focusing on proven females and investing in embryo transfer (ET) and IVF programs to accelerate genetic progress.
Through growth, challenges, and operating across leased land, the program has been shaped by real-world conditions. Today, Scarbah Angus operates from Delungra, where the business continues to grow with clear purpose and direction.
